I find the universal medium has turned my painting techniques to be even more creative than ever -mixed with the paint it moves with great ease - and layers are easy to create and yet there is a transparency that I love - I think I have fallen in love with the medium!!!
The Brown Madder...it's the best color I have ever used and it mixes with everything...I use so much that I bought 2 jars just to make sure I don't run out.... the color adds so much to the landscape...
I love the interactives...here are more paintings using the paints..the mixing quality is fantastic - and working with the knife is a dream....thank you Chroma!! Such creativity!!
"These were a lot of fun to play with. I was impressed with the very high pigment load! These paints layered very well."
Painted mostly with Atelier Free Flow paints. I used them in washes and also for glazing. Colors are vibrant and I love them.
The paints have a wonderful Brilliance and a nice buttery feel. They mix easily and smoothly. I used them with a small amount of matt medium in some cases and a little water sometimes. Full strength, they have great saturation.
I finished this painting this afternoon with a combination of Golden Acrylics and Chroma Atelier Interactive paints. This painting was done with a layering technique that involved applying the paint and wiping our areas before the paint was completely dry. I'm loving the Red Gold color!
I just finished using a mix of Atelier and Golden paints. Love the versatility of Atelier Paints!!
Just finished using new Chroma paint: wedding portrait. Used a lot of pthalo blue (some mixed with black) and cobalt blue hue. All colors were buttery and smooth. I had great control with them.
One of the things I really like about Chroma paint is how well it mixes with a little water so that I can create the consistency I want. Other paints don't mix that well with anything to dilute them.
The varnish is very acceptable & lends a richness to the the paint, while retaining the deep colors as when wet. Meaning: I like it very much!
I really love the butteriness & how the paint moves on the paper. Colors are wonderful, nice to have Paynes Grey back in my palette.
I did a self portrait almost entirely with your delicious paints. Wanted to use a very contemporary bright dynamic palette.
I am definitely switching to the Atelier interactive here is why: I found the flow and mixability very good - they also mix well with some of the Goldens I used since I did not have a full pallet of all the colors. I liked especially how the Atelier paints worked with the knife - and the broad range of blending I got with both brush and knife - also this is very important - the Atelier paints do not turn to 'gel' - many of the colors in Golden do - it's a constant problem - and I end up throwing out a lot paint - I fell in love with the colors you sent and used them all - consistently found the uniformity in the color and the brightness did not fade out . I find my Goldens alway dry a different color and compensate for that – this was not the case with the Interactives. I loved both the transparency and the opaque qualities of each color I was testing - but in particular Brown Madder which became a very important color in all my work - I also loved the Green Olive. I loved how the paint did not drag when I wanted fine details and how I could move the paint just enough to keep some of the color while layering another on top. Working with the Interactives gave me more of a creative edge because I was blending with more ease - and not losing the effect of under paint that I like - acrylics for me work best in layers - and this worked very well with the Interactives. I like the different colors you offer.
I used the sprayer provided with the unlocking formula and sprayed a light coating. Immediately I was able to rework the color edges. LOVE THIS.
