Burnt Umber is a Series 1 semi-transparent color. It has a masstone of intense soil brown, with a rich reddish brown undertone. This color is available in 80ml, 250ml and 500ml sizes.

NOTE – We have changed the pigment used for Burnt Umber to the brighter more reddish shade shown here because it offers a greater contrast to Raw Umber which is a very neutral greyish colour. When shown in the mid and pale tint the more reddish undertone is visible but it shows up best in the transparent glaze which is shown below.
